SLJ Contracts provide fully insured and NTCP qualified tree surgeon to carry out tree surgery work.

We offer the following services:

Straight Felling

Trees add value to a property and are things of beauty, however they can also be a liability if they become dangerous, damaged or unstable. We have the skills and expertise to undertake this work in a safe and responsible manor.

Section Tree Felling

This work is required when there is not enough space to fall a tree intact. Section felling is when we dismantle the tree section by section from the top down and we are trained to do this safely and efficiently.

Pollarding

The best time for pollarding many trees is in late winter or early spring when food reserves are high and the tree is not under water stress. We start pollarding when the tree is young and every year we remove shoots to create good structure and to extend the life span of the tree.

Stump Grinding

We can grind any size of Tree Stump with minimum ground disturbance leaving the ground ready for planting, paving, turfing or fencing.

Crown Reductions & Shaping

We can reduce the overall volume and visible size of a tree from the top while maintaining the natural balance and shape.

Pruning & Thinning

Regular pruning and thinning stimulates growth, removes broken and diseased parts and the guides the plant into filling out its natural shape.

Hedge Trimming

Hedges can often grow out of control if not maintained properly and they can often grow too large that they become dangerous due to their height, or become too imposing in their size.
